chi-town

August 15, 2013

last weekend brought me to the lovely windy city for a girls weekend!!  we had a college reunion with my purdue roommates and friends.  since our college days we have called different places home for 3 years and i think that is why it makes our get togethers so special.  i love getting all together and our conversations, laughs, and everything seem like nothing has changed.  it is fun to reminisce over every single crazy purdue story... dance parties, halloweens, football games and everthing in between.

we started the weekend off by kayaking down the chicago river.  we went on a tour (which i am so happy we did) it was so interesting to learn about the history, the old time gangs and the architecture.  it was a perfect sunny day!!  excuse my somewhat blurry pictures... i took them through a zip-lock on my phone since we got pretty splashed on!!

friday night we went to this new mexican place (fancy mexican i call it..) called mecadito.  yum!! it was delicious!!  we each got a margarita, chips & homemade guacamole then split the tacos.  we each got to sample the beef,  pork belly, chicken and mahi mahi.  the beef was unanimously the favorite!!!

saturday was a pretty lazy day!!! brunch and laying out by the pool.  i think i could get used to the pool view... it was pretty amazing!!

our last night together we did what we love the most... being wine-os! haha.  we drank some wine on the roof top and then moved to a wine bar called bin 36 for wine flights & dinner.  the food was not our favorite but the wine & company made up for it because we had a great time.  after lots of laughs we moved back to laura's apartment to hang out for the rest of the night.

such a fun weekend together!!! i am sad it is over!!!  until the next adventure...

August 6, 2013

last minnesota fun friday brought my sister, mom and i down to mankato, minnesota for the vikings training camp!! steph and i have only been once before and my mom had never been so we thought what a fun friday road trip and experience.  i am a nfl fanatic!!! i love football and especially my minnesota vikings so i am beyond excited that preseason has begun (vikes first game is this friday) and the regular season is just around the corner.  and that means it is almost fall time.... changing leaves, riding boots, daily scarves, apples and best of all football games!!  i am so excited!!

thats our M-V-Peterson!!! : )  so excited to see what he can do this year being healthy and amazing as always!!  this is the best time of the year for excitement league-round... every team thinks they are going to be amazing & all of our hopes are high.  lets hope the vikes don't disappoint this season.  no matter how our season goes i love watching all football and i am over the moon excited that carrie underwood, (my favvvvvv) is singing the sunday night football song!!

and with the season about to begin that means my trip is almost here!!!!!!!!  greg and i are going to italy for 10 days and london for 3 ending our trip with the vikings game in london!!  they are playing the pittsburgh steelers at wembeley stadium at the end of september... i have this cute daily countdown until we leave!! whooooooo

i am not sure either of us can pull these hats off!  hahaha.  but we had fun trying on all styles of vikings attire!!

wedding season

July 26, 2013

last weekend i spent in northern minnesota to attend a dear friend's wedding!!  i love northern minnesota... the woodsy, cabin, beautiful lakes and bright stars at night feeling.  i love how blue the sky & the water are next to each other,  the pine trees everywhere and the lakes around every corner.   the wedding brought us up to babbitt, minnesota... nearby ely.  it was beautiful!!  greg got to get a round of golf in the day before and i of course took pictures along the way.  i headed to ely to meet the girls for lunch,  explore the town a little and then learn the set up for the big day!  as her personal attendant i was in charge of setting up the reception decorations,  helping out with pictures and making sure everyone knew what was going on & where they were supposed to be.

wedding day!!! time for decorations, make up and pictures!!!

^^ my personal attendant duties!! professional shade maker.. haha  ^^

congrats joey & heidi!!!  toast of champagne to the newlyweds!!!
